In 1970, I was born in India to a family that was heavily involved in the Catholic faith. Growing up from a young age, my aunts were SABS sisters which provided role models for me. Through my time in high school at a SABS convent school, I discovered my love for the adoration and devotion to the Eucharist. It was in 10th grade that I decided to become a SABS sister. I joined the convent at 18 and became a nun at age 21.
As a new sister in India, I started working as a social worker in the hospital settings in the healing ministry. My path then led me to teaching the children of India for the Educational Apostolate. In 2004, God called me to Corpus Christi, Texas. While in Texas, I worked with the homeless doing social work.
It was at this time that I felt closer to God than I have ever before. When I was reading the Bible, I found my favorite verse in St. Paul’s letter (Philippians 4:13).
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
This verse showed to me that I can always stretch out my hand to those who are in need and help out. I believe that in my 18 years of ministry in Texas, I was able to be there for those in need and help them out.
Currently, I am working in parish ministry at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Fernandina Beach, Florida. Along with parish ministry, I am serving as CEO of Sisters of the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Sacred Heart. I pray with this charity, we are able to help the SABS sisters reach those who are in need of the good-news of Jesus.
